vinyl la-di-das ♪

two weeks ago,
my lovely father got me a lovely portable turntable
!!!
it isn't a Crosley or anything,
it's just a korean brand
but that doesn't matter too much right?
it still sounds pretty good,
and its portable, which just makes the product HAHA

here's the new beauty !!

Sky Digital
Aria Pan USB _ 70,000won

i didn't get to try it out for two weeks,
cause i didn't have any records to play on it LOL
but,
i borrowed a few from my grandma's stash of records today
and i FINALLY got to listen to the beauty that is vinyl records

here are the records grams lent me:

Phil Collins
Face Value (1981)

my dad recommended this one,
telling me it was one that he asked his dad to buy for him
when he was in the states
i've never really listened to Genesis,
nor have i listened to their drummer Phil Collins' solo pieces
so this was new
and i like his music so far !!
"In The Air Tonight" and "Droned"
are my favorites on this record
but i haven't had time to listen to all the tracks yet
so, there's more to be excited about
!!!

Cyndi Lauper
She's So Unusual (1983)
True Colors (1986)

CYNDI !!!
as soon i saw these ones, i had to bring them home with me
i mean, who wouldn't right?
and, tbh, i have a guilty pleasure of jamming out to "She Bop"
not to mention, She's So Unusual has "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" on it
HAHAHA
oh, and the album art is pretty gorgeous
the backside of True Colors is absolutely amazing

isn't she just so great ??
look at that newspaper skirt and 1980's photo editing
tbh, i would dye my hair like that if i could
but then again, i shouldn't, so i don't.

George Winston
December (1982)

i felt the need to bring home something instrumental too,
you know, for those afternoons of reading
or tea
or both
the afternoons when i want to be nostalgic and sentimental HAHAHA

George Winston's music is fantastic.
i really like his rendition of "Carol of the Bells"
and his "Variations on Kanon"
both classics, reborn at Winston's fingertips !!!

but i do feel like i've brought this one home too early
i mean, it's called December
and it has a bunch of wintery or christmasy tracks on it
maybe i should save it till winter ?

Original Broadway Cast of Les Misérables
Les Misérables (1986)

AHHHHHH ♥
* insert major theatre-gasm here *
if i were you, i'd be jealous of me
the original cast's recoding on a vinyl is in my owning
Colm Wilkinson's voice + the sound of vinyl scratches = heaven
it's like a musical hipster's dream come true

i apologise in advance to my neighbours
because this is what i'll be jamming to 24/7
#sorrynotsorry

this might sound weird,
but this record smells the best out of the ones i brought home today
idk, the smell of old paper is great
mmmmm yessss

:

i wanted to let you
( if there are any of "you" )
listen to a track on the turntable
so i picked out "Carol Of The Bells" by George Winston
and i filmed it
and uploaded it
and embedded it for you.
feel special.
and like i said, it's pretty great.
here ya go:

lol at me turning down the volume at 0:45
'cause i was scared my neighbors would get angry
#sobrave

i love saturdays like this
Despicable Me 2 + vinyl records + possibility of shopping tonight ?!
oh, and i had this ice cream HAHA

Lotte
Jewel Ice Bar
700won

( do i really need to write that? LOL )

have a great weekend,
and a great Chusok break, if you're in Korea :)
