Mondays & Music
- part 2 -
The Folk & Acoustic Edition
hey guys !!
long time no music blog?
or has it only been a week
but it seems like forever ago 'cause i blog errryday?
idk
music posts are some of my favorite ones to write
because i everytime i listen to a good track
i want to tell people
but i don't know who'll appreciate said track
so these posts let me share with the world ~~
on the other hand,
they're easy to write (y)
:
First Track
Mumford & Sons I Will Wait Babel
let's start off with a song you probably already know
or at least have heard of
I Will Wait by Mumford & Sons
the reason i'm still posting this track
is cause it's, well, just such a great track
some youtuber described it as 'an anthem of hope'
( that's such an accurate depiction omg )
some youtuber described it as 'an anthem of hope'
( that's such an accurate depiction omg )
i don't know many Lauren Hill songs
nor have i ever listened The Good Life
but this cover of the two songs is ugh
#eargasm
after hearing this track
and after then searching wildly for more Bella Vesta music,
i sorta had an internal emotional breakdown
( that means it was only in my head lul)
when i heard they were new and didn't have many tracks out yet
BUT
rumor has it that they should be releasing tracks on the super regular
omgyesplease

Third Track
Spark Alaska Hidden Edelweiss Everything You Know Is Changing But It'll Pass
omgomgomg the narration in the beginning
unbearably. cute.
Spark Alaska is an 19yo singer-songwriter i recently found
and he's totes amazeballs
and his entire album,
Everything You Know Is Changing But It'll Pass
( that's a mouthful wow )
is playing 24/7 in my room
he's the type of artist that i don't want famous
so i have the joy of listening to it to myself
idk, but you all know this feel, right?
and again, that narration doe.
and if you listen till the end
omg the kid is singing !!!!
kawaii desu ne !!

Fourth Track
Lisa Germano Ruminants No Elephants
you know when a song is just so
weird and creepy, it becomes kind of sad too
and you get stuck in this melancholy state of nostalgia and gloominess?
yea? yea?
i'm pretty sure you do,
but if you don't,
Reminants will make you feel those EXACT emotion
i'm so glad that Lisa Germano released a new album this year
i mean, she's pretty great
besides, it's been 4 years and i was worried she's retire
oh oh oh !!
i also wanted to mention how
alongside Bjork's songs and other weird-sad tracks,
this song is really bringing the Halloween vibe ~
omg maybe i should make a Halloween music post some time
#getexcited #halloween2k13

Fourth Track
Foxtails Brigade Winter's Feat Time Is Passed
first off, anything cute-ish followed by the word Brigade
instantly makes it so much cuter
secondly, music videos of paper cut out animals
celebrating christmas is also very cute
thirdly, if i ever refer to music as being 'cute-folk'
this is the kind of music i'm talking about
in a nutshell, this song is preeeeetty 'cute'
Foxtails Brigade has a lot of other tracks too,
most of which could be great lullabies
and a majority should be made into orgel tunes
and by the way,
i'd greatly appreciate it if someone did

Last Track
Lisa Hannigan Safe Travels (Don't Die) Passenger
let's end on a calm note
here's my all-time-favorite Lisa Hannigan song
the song and lyrics make me sad but happy yaknoe
makes my heart shed happy-sad tears
it reminds me of My Brightest Diamond's I Have Never Loved Someone,
one of the only songs
that have ever made me actually literally physically tear up
( it's a letter from a mother to a son ),
which gives me the exact same feels
this is actually a live version of the song
and i wanted you guys to listen to a live version
because i fell in love with the song when i heard it live
until then, it was, well, meh
but after hearing Lisa sing it,
watching her sing it,
at the Muse In City Festival,
oh wow, how suddenly beautiful the song seemed
